What I Believe

I believe what I see in the visible and natural world was made by an amazing creative God who says it’s all mine and it’s good.

I believe there is a greater unseen part of life that we sense is present but we cannot comprehend.

I believe God reveals part of Himself through beauty, nature and love.

I believe what God says about Himself through the words written in the Bible are true.

I believe Jesus was and is real and is the son of God who lived, walked on this earth, died, came to life again, and then transcended into a supernatural life with God and the rest of the unseen world.

However, I believe something is wrong, very wrong, in this present world, and that life is not as it was meant to be!

I believe that we were all born into a world at war. A real war that has existed for ages and a war that exists today. Look around. Is what you see what you want? Is there a sense that things are not right? Is there a longing for something more, for peace?

Jesus was born into this very same world that was and is, still at war. He experienced all the same pain and suffering as we do and he experienced death…the ultimate end as many believe. Yet his death resulted in life, eternal life for him and for me and those who know him.

I believe though life is not as it should be or was meant to be, in His own time, God will restore all things and He will make all things new.

I know my own suffering through cancer and its consequences have brought me into an integrated, more personally authentic and deeper relationship with God. I do not really like or care for this part of the deal/life yet my life is better because of my suffering and those sufferings of Jesus.

In response to what I have stated and in what I believe to be true, there is one question that really matters…How now shall I live today?
